Marco Sondag shares his Océ experience

Marco Sondag
Project Manager HR Information Systems

Building up a skills set

During his varied career, Marco has held several positions for different employers. “Skills and experiences from previous jobs and assignments have always been more than useful in a new position,” he explains. “And these accumulate, so you can continue to build on those experiences as you take on new responsibilities.”

Revitalize yourself

“The challenges you face in different positions are often similar. But it’s the environment and culture within a company that make them interesting and provide the energy I’m always looking for,” says Marco. “Whether you work for different companies (in my case Dutch, US, Japanese), or whether you work for different parts of one company, change gives you energy and an opportunity for personal growth. There’s so much to discover out there.”

“Mobility or a career move means getting out of your comfort zone from time to time. It keeps you on the ball and is the catalyst for continuous learning and renewal of your energy! And, in my case, it’s keeping me young at heart!”

Helping the company grow

The challenge of Marco’s new role is to support the global harmonization of PPP HR processes with a state-of-the-art IT system. Marco: “You gain more and more experience working across different departments.” Marco has worked in areas ranging from hardware and software in R&D and ICT, to Manufacturing, Quality Assurance & Logistics. He sees this broad experience as key to the success of his new role.  “The more skills and experience you have, the more you’re able to contribute to helping the company grow.”
